The Editorial Board of CMEonHemophilia.com is an independent committee whose mission is to ensure the scientific quality of the presentations in the online conferences section. Our task is to review and approve these presentations based on the importance and clinical relevance of the information they provide. The mission of the CMEonHemophilia.com Editorial Board also includes attending major conferences on Hemophilia so that the most important can be recommended. Dr. Mary-Frances Scully is currently an Associate Professor in the Departments of Medicine and Child Health at Memorial University of Newfoundland, St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada. Dr. Scully is an Active Staff member in the Division of Hematology, Department of Medicine at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John’s. She specializes in the area of hemostasis but also participates in the care of patients in a large adult leukemia/transplant, and general hematology practice. Dr. Scully is certified as a member of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland. She is certified as a Pediatrician and Hematologist by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and as a Hematologist in Quebec. She served a term as a bilingual examiner in Pediatric Hematology for the Hematology Board of the Royal College of Canada.
Dr. Scully is a member of the executive of the Thrombosis Interest Group of Canada and is editor for the website at www.tigc.org. She is a member of the Association of Hemophilia Clinic Directors of Canada since 1991. Currently, she is Chair of the subcommittee on the Emergency Care of Bleeding Disorders and a member of the subcommittees on Factor IX, von Willebrand’s Disease, and Women and Bleeding. She is a member of the Canadian Hemophilia Society committees on Women and Bleeding and on the Emergency Treatment of Hereditary Bleeding Disorders. Her major research interest is in the epidemiology and clinical impact of mild hemophilia A and the medical management of menorrhagia.
Anthony Chan
Anthony K. C. Chan MBBS, FRCPC, FRCPath
Dr. Anthony Chan is currently a Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at McMaster University in Hamilton, ON, Canada. He is certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada as a Pediatrician and Hematologist in Canada. Dr. Chan is the Director (Pediatrics) of the Hemophilia Treatment Centre at the McMaster Children’s Hospital (Hamilton, ON, Canada). Dr. Chan is also a Career Investigator funded by the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario. He holds research grant from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
